A court in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk has sentenced a 46-year-old man who was found guilty of purchasing counterfeit cigarettes for the purpose of further sale. The cost of the products exceeded 5 million rubles.

According to investigators, the defendant bought unmarked tobacco products in August 2023. In the future, the man planned to sell cigarettes. The batch was withdrawn from circulation by FSB officers, SakhalinMedia news agency writes.

During the court session, the man repented of what he had done and admitted his guilt. He was fined 500 thousand rubles.

In Tula, a man was accused of trafficking tobacco products worth over 21 million rubles. The defendant stored counterfeit products in a garage, and then transported some of them to a shopping tent.
