The Second Western District Military Court extended the arrest of Sergei Udaltsov, coordinator of the Left Front (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist), in the case of justifying terrorism for six months. This was reported to Izvestia on April 1 by a court source.

The court granted the petition of the state prosecution. Udaltsov will remain in custody until September 2025.

The criminal case against Sergei Udaltsov was initiated on December 15, and he was charged with publicly justifying terrorism "for a number of publications" on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2). Under this article, he could face up to seven years in prison. The man does not admit his guilt.

In January last year, the Basmanny Court of Moscow granted the investigation's request to detain Udaltsov. His lawyer informed about the demand of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation to arrest the man.

Sergei Udaltsov was released from prison in 2017, where he served 4.5 years for organizing riots on Moscow's Bolotnaya Square in May 2012. After that, he was repeatedly detained for violations during the organization of actions and rallies.
