A new SEZ Yuzhnouralskaya will appear in the Chelyabinsk region

A new special economic zone (SEZ) of the Yuzhnouralskaya industrial type will appear in the Chelyabinsk Region. This was announced on April 1 by the Russian government in the Telegram channel.
"A new industrial-type special economic zone will be located in the Krasnoarmeysky municipal district of the Chelyabinsk Region. Five companies will become its residents, which will be engaged in the production of trailed vehicles, tracked systems, bearings, and robotic systems," the message says.
In addition, the Russian government noted that the regional authorities will create engineering, transport and other infrastructure of the SEZ by 2028, and it is planned to allocate more than 3.5 billion rubles for this.
It clarifies that special economic zones are needed for the development of industry, high-tech sectors of the economy, tourism and logistics infrastructure of the country.
Earlier, on March 5, the Ministry of Economic Development informed Izvestia that SEZ participants were showing significantly higher economic results compared to non-resident companies. It was noted that by the end of 2024, 1,060 small and medium-sized businesses were registered in the SEZ, which is 87% of the total number of residents.
In 2023, their combined income exceeded 223 billion rubles. In terms of one enterprise, the average income of a SEZ participant amounted to more than 210 million rubles, which is 10 times higher than the same indicator for non-residents.
