A boat carrying tourists from Russia and Kazakhstan caught fire near the island of Maiton in Phuket province in southern Thailand. As a result of the incident, a Russian citizen received burns. This was announced by the tourist police on April 1.
"The boat exploded near the island of Myton. There were 31 tourists from Kazakhstan and Russia on it," the agency quoted TASS as saying.
According to MGR online, the cause of the fire was engine failure. In addition to the Russian citizen, the crew members who remained on board also suffered burns and injuries.
The remaining 30 tourists were not injured because they were in the water at the time of the incident. They returned to their hotels.

On January 2, in Thailand, a tourist bus carrying Russian tourists suddenly lost control, changed lanes and crashed into the back of a passenger car. As a result of the accident, 27 Russians were injured.
