- A courier who stole more than 3 million rubles from a pensioner was detained in Novosibirsk.

A man born in 1999 was detained in Novosibirsk, who took more than 3 million rubles of savings from a pensioner in Krasnoyarsk and transferred the money to accomplices. This was reported on April 1 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
"Law enforcement officers have established that the victim received a call from a man who introduced himself as an employee of the Central Bank, found out how much savings she had and stated that they needed to be declared. To do this, a courier will come to her, who will need to transfer the savings. And the next day, the entire amount will be refunded," the department said.
When no one returned the money at the appointed time, the pensioner turned to the police for help.
"During the operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Krasnoyarsk" established that the theft was committed by a previously convicted resident of Novosibirsk, born in 1999, who flew to the regional center on purpose the day before," the Interior Ministry said.
Subsequently, it turned out that the detainee managed to transfer almost the entire amount through a cryptocurrency exchange point. He kept only 90 thousand rubles for himself.
A criminal case was opened into the incident under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud"). According to it, the person involved can receive up to 10 years in prison.
A day earlier, in the Moscow region, fraudsters deceived a resident of 65 million rubles when buying cars. According to the investigation, a local resident requested the purchase of 16 Chinese-made cars and their transportation to the Moscow region. However, after receiving an advance payment of 65 million rubles, the suspects stopped contacting.
