The State Duma deputy proposed to increase pension indexation

The level of pension indexation should be calculated based on the actual spending of Russian pensioners. This was announced on April 1 by Sergey Gavrilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations, in an interview with TASS.
"In recent years, pension indexation has become an annual ritual with an almost imperceptible response from most older people. Try asking a random pensioner if he felt the increase," he said.
To do this, he suggested reviewing the formation of the consumer basket, making it more closely related to the real spending of the population.
"After all, we are not talking about a Russian with a mortgage, an iPhone and family trips - we are talking about an elderly person whose budget consists of medicines, utility bills and simple products. And if the cost of sugar, bread, travel and blood pressure medications increased by 22% over the year, and the pension was raised by 9%, then this is not an increase, but a decrease," Gavrilov said.
He also stressed the importance of not only insurance, but also social pensions. It is what every fifth Russian pensioner currently receives.
On March 25, the State Duma commented on the idea of introducing a single social card for pensioners in Russia. It is important to understand that this is a certain software, investing significant funds in its maintenance and improvement. For Moscow, as a fairly well-off region, there is such an opportunity, and it is convenient. But if we say that the social card needs to be broadcast to all regions, then we must understand that many regions do not have the guarantees that Moscow has, said Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.
