Calculations of D-30 howitzers destroyed the AFU UAV control point in the Kherson region

Calculations of 122 mm towed D-30 howitzers of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Dnepr group of forces when performing firing tasks at the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) control center The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) off the right coast of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. This was announced on Tuesday, April 1, by the Russian Defense Ministry.

So, the aerial scouts identified the target and transmitted the exact coordinates to the position of the artillery crew. After that, the soldiers quickly disguised the howitzer and struck at the specified coordinates.

It is clarified that the purpose of the calculation is mainly to help infantry close to the enemy. Thus, the tasks of the howitzer include both inflicting fire damage on the enemy and saving personnel.

"That is, the range of work is very wide. In the calculation itself, the professionalism that they have already achieved is important, because we have been here for almost two years now. Well-coordinated, fast, monotonous work without any fuss and strict execution of the commander's order," said a senior battery officer with the call sign Penza.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen committed in the area of a special military operation. So, Private Alexander Zakhlebin, as part of the unit, carried out the task of capturing the AFU stronghold. He promptly noticed the approaching enemy drones and opened fire on them with standard weapons. Two drones were destroyed. Meanwhile, Russian attack aircraft managed to get close to the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
