On April 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense published details of the liberation of the village of Zaporizhia in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) by Russian fighters.

"During fierce fighting, the military personnel of the Center group of forces liberated the village of Zaporizhia in the DPR. The village of Zaporizhia is located in the Red Army area of the special military operation zone and is located about 23 km southwest of Krasnoarmeysk," the department said.

It is reported that during the operation, the military received support from drone crews, artillery and aviation.

"The assault units entered the village in small groups, staying close to all possible shelters, passing through dugouts and camouflaged shelters. During the fighting, the servicemen destroyed many pieces of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a large number of heavy hexacopters of various types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which impede the advance of the assault units," the Defense Ministry said.

The Russian military also managed to capture a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.

"The brave and decisive actions of the fighters, the skilful leadership of the personnel by commanders of all degrees, as well as the skilful use of various forces and means of destruction, made it possible to complete the combat mission and oust the enemy from the next settlement," the Defense Ministry summed up.

On March 30, the Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian military had liberated the town of Zaporizhia in the Donetsk People's Republic. The successful offensive was carried out by units of the Center group of forces.
