The identity of a person in the sect is completely "erased", and he no longer perceives reality. Svetlana, a former member of the Ashram of Shambhala sect (banned in Russia), told Izvestia about this on Tuesday, April 1.
"A person loses absolutely a sense of reality, he "falls" into a completely different reality <...> The average sectarian does not have time to think. Practice in the morning, at lunch, in the evening. You're always busy," Svetlana shared.
According to her, members of the sect go through daily so-called warm-ups, workouts, penances and practices of "karma yoga." At the same time, every action of a sectarian requires an account to the "elder" — up to and including going to the bathroom.
This approach creates a sense of "being chosen" in people. Sectarians call all people who are not involved in the organization "mice" living in darkness and possessed by demons.
Svetlana explained that a variety of people can join the sect: people who are obsessed with esotericism or the spiritual path, vulnerable people and those who find themselves in a difficult life situation.
Earlier, on April 31, Argentina reported the detention of Konstantin Rudnev, the founder of the Ashram of Shambhala sect. It is noted that he was trying to fly from the Argentine city of Bariloche to Brazil, accompanied by five Russians and one Mexican woman. During the arrest, according to the portal, Rudnev attempted suicide.
