In the Kholmsky district of the Sakhalin Region, a car collided with a dump truck in the oncoming lane of the Nevelsk-Tomari-Shakhtersk Airport road. This was announced on April 1 by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the region in the Telegram channel.
"The 45-year—old driver, driving a Suzuki Escudo car, moving in a southerly direction, entered a lane intended for oncoming traffic, as a result of which he collided with a Shaanxi dump truck moving in the opposite direction," the department said.
It is specified that a nine-year-old child who was not wearing a seat belt was injured in the accident. He suffered bodily injuries.
An investigation is currently underway into the incident.
Earlier that day, in the Leningrad Region, a driver burned down in a car after colliding with a tree. As a result of the accident, the car was completely destroyed, and the driver in it was killed. According to one version, he lost consciousness from the impact, so he could not get out of the burning car on his own.
