Sakhalin convicted a man for buying unmarked cigarettes for resale

The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court found guilty a 46-year-old man accused of acquiring counterfeit tobacco products for resale. This was announced on April 1 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
"[The defendant] was found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph b of Part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (he committed the acquisition, storage for the sale of unmarked tobacco products subject to labeling with special (excise) stamps on an especially large scale)," the department said.
Reported. that he bought the product in August 2023.
"The court <...> imposed a fine of 500,000 rubles on the defendant," the prosecutor's office concluded.
On March 13, a man who shot from an apartment window in Bibirevo in Moscow was sentenced to 4.5 years in a penal colony. According to the agency, the defendant will serve his sentence in a correctional colony of the general regime.
