US President Donald Trump has said he wants Russia's consent to conclude a deal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He made the corresponding statement on March 31 during a conversation with reporters in the Oval Office.

"I want to see how he (Russian President Vladimir Putin — Ed.) makes a deal," he said, the broadcast was posted on the Fox News YouTube channel.

At the same time, he added that he would not like to impose secondary duties against Russia, but is ready to take such a step if there is no progress on the settlement.

On March 30, it was reported that Trump announced his intention to hold a new conversation with Putin in the near future.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 27 that there was no exact date for a new round of talks between the Russian and US delegations yet. He added that a conversation between Putin and Trump is also not planned.

The last telephone conversation between the leaders of the two countries took place on March 18. During the conversation, they exchanged views on the Ukrainian conflict, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation.
