More than 460,000 homes in Canada have been reconnected to electricity after an ice storm hit the province of Ontario. This was announced on March 31 by the Hydro One energy company.

"The crews continue to work together with our contractors to restore electricity supply to consumers. Since the beginning of the storm, crews have restored electricity to more than 460,000 consumers," the website says.

According to the organization, the involvement of brigades from other parts of the province of Ontario is also continuing. It is expected that it will take several days to fully recover.

Hydro One claims that the work of the crews will not be stopped until the power supply to all customers is fully restored.

On March 29, Hydro One reported that more than 360,000 Ontario residents were left without electricity due to the ice storm that hit the province. The city of Peterborough has declared a state of emergency to help residents cope with the effects of the storm, and reception centers have been opened for those affected.
