A gas leak caused an explosion at the Akhmadali Khoja mosque in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, which killed three people. The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic announced this on March 31.

"It turned out that natural gas had leaked from gas pipes connected to heating devices in the basement of the Akhmadali Khoja Mosque and accumulated inside the building. When the electricity was turned on, a spark appeared and the building collapsed," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that a criminal case has been opened into the incident.

The gas explosion in the mosque became known earlier that day. It is specified that three people were killed, 10 more were injured. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital.
