Almost fifty grass fires were recorded in the Pskov region over the weekend

Last weekend, 48 cases of dry grass fires were registered in the Pskov region. This was reported to the Pskov news feed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region.
Most of the landscape fires occurred in the Velikiye Luki region — eight fires were recorded there. Fires were also extinguished in Krasnogorodsk, Nevel, Pustoshka, Sebezh, Usvyaty and other municipalities.
The total area of fires was 32.5 hectares. The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns that the fire formed as a result of the fall of grass spreads very quickly, which is why it poses a great threat. In addition, with such fires, there is a risk of fire spreading to residential buildings.
Earlier in March, uncontrolled burning of dry vegetation led to the destruction of a private house and outbuildings in the village of Avangard in Primorsky Krai. The UK has opened a criminal case.
