Le Pen's lawyer said she was shocked by the verdict.

The leader of the French right-wing National Unification party, Marine Le Pen, was deeply shocked by the court's decision in the case of embezzlement of funds from the European Parliament. This was announced on March 31 by her lawyer Rodolphe Bossel, quoted by the BFM TV channel.
According to him, the politician is "aggressive" and is particularly shocked by the decision because the court justified the preliminary execution by the risk of re-commission of the crime. He noted that Le Pen does not dispute the facts, but claims that the alleged actions cannot lead to a criminal conviction.
Prior to that, Le Pen's lawyer stated that he intends to appeal the verdict.
On March 31, a court in Paris found Le Pen guilty of embezzling European Parliament funds in a case involving the creation of fictitious jobs. She was sentenced to four years in prison, two of which were suspended, and the rest were placed under house arrest while wearing an electronic bracelet.
