- Starting from April 1, Gosuslugi will launch a service to verify the registration of SIM cards.

From April 1, the Gosuslugi portal will launch a service that allows Russians to check all SIM cards issued in their name. This was announced on March 31 by the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The new tool will help identify unaccounted-for numbers that can be used by fraudsters. The agency recommends using the service to increase protection against criminal schemes.
"It is planned that the service will help identify unaccounted-for SIM cards that can be used by fraudsters. Verification will help protect citizens from a number of fraudulent schemes, so we recommend using it," the department's Telegram channel says.
The Ministry of Finance clarified that the service will be available from 20:00 Moscow time on April 1. Telecom operators have set a limit of no more than 20 SIM cards per subscriber. If exceeded, the user will have to cancel the extra numbers before November 1.
The State Duma warned about possible disruptions in the first hours of the service, but assured that it was technically ready to launch.
Earlier, on March 27, it was reported that a self-locking service for remote registration of SIM cards for citizens could be launched on the Gosuslugi portal in the spring of 2026.
