- In Germany, they proposed to freeze the financing of countries interfering with the EU

Germany has proposed to freeze the financing of countries that violate the basic principles of the European Union (EU). This was reported by the Politico newspaper on March 31.
"The conservatives of future Chancellor Friedrich Merz and their likely coalition partner from the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) have agreed to demand that the bloc suspend funding and deprive countries of the right to vote that violate key principles such as the rule of law," the article says.
According to the newspaper, these measures are provided for by the coalition agreement of the new government of the country. Politico suggests that this primarily concerns Hungary, although the document does not specify a specific state.
Negotiators from the conservative Merz and SPD bloc clarified in the text of the agreement that existing protective instruments, from infringement proceedings and withholding EU funds to suspension of membership rights such as voting rights in the European Council, should be applied much more consistently than before.
On March 19, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned the European Union of an "imminent collapse" if the liberals were not removed from power in the bloc. He also noted the interference in the internal affairs of other states by various funds funded by American billionaire George Soros.
