Oleg Leontiev left the post of head coach of HC Neftekhimik


Oleg Leontiev, the head coach of the Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik hockey club, announced on March 31 that the club's management had terminated his contract with him.
"My contract was valid for two more years, but the management decided to terminate it at the end of the season due to an unsatisfactory result," he said in an interview with TASS.
Leontiev added that he was ready to accept any decision of the club and had no complaints against the administration of Neftekhimik.
The coach stressed that he and his staff had put their heart and soul into the team.
"I hope that she will still play and conquer the peaks. Its potential and prospects are visible," the specialist noted.
Neftekhimik finished the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. The club scored two points less than Admiral Vladivostok, losing the last ticket to the Gagarin Cup playoffs.
Earlier, on March 11, Neftekhimik defeated Dynamo Moscow with a score of 4:3. Strikers Kirill Kapustin, Nikita Khoruzhev and German Tochilkin scored for the Nizhnekamsk club.
