Soviet troops captured the strongholds on the outskirts of Vienna

As a result of the rapid advance of tank formations and infantry, the troops captured the industrial city and the major railway junction of Wiener Neustadt in Austria, on the outskirts of Vienna. This is reported by Izvestia.
There were exactly 36 days left until the Great Victory.
Besides him, Eisenstadt, Neunkirchen and Gloggnitz were taken — important German defense strongholds on the outskirts of Vienna. The troops of Colonel-General Glagolev, Lieutenant-General Mironov, Lieutenant-General Tikhonov, Major-General Rozhdestvensky and others distinguished themselves in the battles for the capture of Wiener Neustadt and other named cities. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief ordered them to be presented with orders.
The material was published as part of the Izvestia special project "80 days to Victory."
