- The father of the deceased military commander of Izvestia Fedorchak commented on the desecration of his son's grave.

The father of the deceased Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak said on March 31 that he considered the desecration of his son's grave an act of terrorism.
"There were many wreaths with state symbols on my son's grave. Now it's just ashes. If someone, God forbid, decides to extinguish the eternal flame, or desecrate the grave, or burn the state symbols of our country, then he is not a vandal, but a terrorist," Sergei Regnum told IA.
He noted that there were many people at his son's funeral. According to him, Alexander always tried to help everyone. He also stressed that their family had no enemies and they had never received threats.
This morning it became known that in Crimea, vandals burned and destroyed Fedorchak's grave. A criminal case has been opened into the abuse of the grave of the correspondent and three other dead participants in the special operation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the situation with the burning of Fedorchak's grave monstrous and pointed out the need to apply harsh measures to those responsible. The spokesman noted that the law provides for appropriate measures against those who commit such acts.
Fedorchak's death in the special military operation zone became known on March 24.
