- The head of Gagauzia, Hutsul, called the prosecutor's statements on her case disinformation.

The head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, said that Prosecutor Gennady Epure had made a number of false statements about her case. She wrote about this on March 31 in her Telegram channel.
"Gennady Epure has made a number of public statements that not only do not correspond to reality, but also represent a deliberate attempt to misinform the public," the statement said.
Hutsul notes that the prosecutor stated that an event of the Global Union of Journalists was allegedly not planned in Istanbul, where she intended to fly on March 25. At the same time, according to the head of Gagauzia, the criminal prosecution authority has at its disposal a full package of official documents confirming the purpose of the visit.
She also rejected the prosecutor's accusations of providing forged documents. Hutsul noted that such accusations should not be made without any expertise and without taking into account the official responses from the host country.
On the same day, the defense of the head of Gagauzia filed an appeal against the decision on her arrest, which lasts for 30 days. The prosecutors, in turn, are seeking the arrest of the head of Gagauzia in the second criminal case, as the defense appealed to the court in the first.
Earlier, on March 29, Hutsul, under arrest, published an appeal to citizens. She noted that the arrest is a blow to the whole of Gagauzia. Hutsul also urged her supporters to "not give in to fear" and not give up.
Hutsul was detained at the Chisinau airport on March 25. According to the Moldovan Prosecutor General's Office, this happened after her name was found on the list of persons prohibited from leaving the country.
