Missing motivation is not just laziness or fatigue. This is a signal that something has gone wrong in your life or work. And instead of trying to "force yourself," it's important to stop and figure out exactly what's going on, Yulia Dobrynina, a business psychologist and crisis counselor, told Izvestia on April 1.

"If you were initially moving not towards your goals, but towards others, then loss of motivation is not a problem, but liberation," the specialist notes.

However, if there was motivation, but then it disappeared, the reasons may be different: overwork, blurred goals, routine, or a discrepancy between desires and actual actions.

"You've been working at your limits for too long. Your brain and body are just tired, and now they require rest," explains the expert.

According to the expert, it is important to honestly admit that it is no longer possible to move forward. This is not a weakness, but a normal reaction of the body to overload.

In addition, it is important not just to rest, but to recover well, which will help you sleep deeply and without alarms, walking in nature away from the hustle and bustle, as well as silence — turning off gadgets and time alone.

"Routine kills motivation. If every day is similar to the previous one, the brain stops perceiving tasks as something interesting," says the expert.

The expert notes that the way out is to change the usual routine, try new things, and master unfamiliar skills.

"Missing motivation is not a problem, but an opportunity. An opportunity to stop, review your goals, and understand what you really want. Don't be afraid to ask yourself uncomfortable questions. Don't be afraid to change direction. And most importantly, don't wait for motivation to return. Start acting now," Dobrynina summed up.

Earlier, on January 10, it was reported that the majority of Russians surveyed (57%) intend to actively pay attention to their careers in 2025. This is stated in the results of the analysts' research. hh.ru . At the same time, 65% of respondents intended to spend more time at work a year ago.
