Rahmon announced a new stage of relations with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that his meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Khujand on March 31 marks the beginning of a new stage in relations between the three countries.
"The development of close cooperation between our peoples <...> is one of the priorities of Tajikistan's foreign policy. That is why we consider the results of today's meetings as a harbinger of renewal and the beginning of a qualitatively new stage in the relations between the three countries," the press service quoted him as saying at the celebrations in honor of the spring holiday of Navruz.
According to Rahmon, the border agreement signed by the heads of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has historical significance and indicates the firm commitment of the parties to peaceful methods of resolving contradictions.
The President noted that the trilateral agreements will become an important factor in deepening political, economic and cultural cooperation between Dushanbe, Tashkent and Bishkek.
The border agreement signed by the heads of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on March 31 establishes the demarcation at the "junction point" of the territory of the three states. The document also establishes the legal aspects of interaction and regulation of issues related to the border area. The leaders of the republics also signed the Khujand Declaration of Eternal Friendship.
