An unknown virus that allegedly causes coughing up blood and fever may be a mycoplasma infection. This was reported on March 31 in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

It is noted that a total of five cases of similar symptoms were reported in Moscow and the Moscow region, but it soon became clear that it was mycoplasma pneumonia, confirmed by the results of tests.

"In the last post published on March 31, 2025, our editorial board clarifies that it has received the test results and established diagnoses of those who applied earlier, and also talks about the operational work carried out by Rospotrebnadzor specialists, the results of which indicate the absence of detection of new viruses and various mutations in Russia," the Telegram channel says.

The ministry also confirmed the absence of epidemiological risks in connection with five registered cases of the disease in the capital and the Moscow region, which, according to preliminary information, are caused by mycoplasma infection.

Rospotrebnadzor reported on March 29 that the agency had taken control of reports of the spread of an allegedly new disease, the symptoms of which are coughing up blood and fever.
