A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. "Units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated formations of two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades in the areas of the settlements of Novoandreevka, Stepovoye, Zaporizhia region, Antonovka and Yantarnoye, Kherson region," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

In addition, five US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs and 150 aircraft-type drones were shot down by air defense systems.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 660 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 49 180 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22 606 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1533 multiple rocket launchers, 23 130 guns of field artillery and mortars, 33 545 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
