Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, at a briefing on March 31, responding to a question from Izvestia about the act of vandalism with the arson of the grave of correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, called the situation monstrous and pointed out the need to apply harsh measures to the perpetrators.

"The law provides for appropriate measures against those who commit such acts, of course, the most stringent measures should be applied. This is unacceptable and outrageous, monstrous, and we condemn such actions in the strongest terms," he said.
