The icebreaker Yevpaty Kolovrat rescued six vessels from the ice off the coast of Kamchatka

The icebreaker Yevpaty Kolovrat has rescued six vessels trapped in the ice off the coast of Kamchatka. This was reported on March 31 by TASS with reference to the press service of the Pacific Fleet.

"There were six vessels trapped in the ice near the port of Ust-Kamchatsk. These are marine self—propelled barges, two cargo self-propelled flatcuts and one cargo vessel," the report says.

It is noted that the distance from the edge of the ice field from the shore is about 13 km. The stranded vessels could not get out for 10 days, after which the administration of the Kamchatka Territory appealed to the commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Viktor Liina, with a request for assistance.
