Over the past three years, more than 145 thousand studies have been conducted at the MMCC "Kommunarka" endoscopic center, which make it possible to detect oncological diseases of the gastrointestinal tract at an early stage. This was stated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his Telegram channel.

"Endoscopic examination helps to detect gastrointestinal tumors at an early stage, when the disease is mostly asymptomatic. For example, the doctors of Kommunarka have identified over 2 thousand malignant neoplasms, of which more than 200 are at stage zero," said the mayor of the capital.

Early diagnosis of cancer helps to start treatment promptly, which, in turn, increases the patient's chances of a full recovery. The doctors of Kommunarka can remove small tumors directly during the study, after which, according to the results of the analyzes conducted in the pathomorphological laboratory of the endoscopic center, the patient is accurately diagnosed.

In total, four high-flow endoscopic centers are already operating in Moscow today. In total, more than 600,000 studies have already been conducted there. Their work has significantly improved the quality of diagnosis of malignant neoplasms: the detection rate of gastrointestinal cancers at the zero stage has increased by one and a half times.
