Gagauzia announced the lack of dialogue with Moldova amid the arrest of Hutsul

After the arrest of the head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, the regional authorities operate in accordance with the regular regime, while there is no constructive dialogue with Moldova. This was announced on March 31 by Ilya Uzun, First deputy head of the autonomous region, on the Rossiya 24 channel.
"All the authorities of the Gagauz autonomy — the People's Assembly, the executive committee — are working normally <...>. However, the most important thing is that we do not have any interaction between Comrat and Chisinau," Uzun said.
According to him, there was no constructive dialogue with the Moldovan authorities after Hutsul's detention.
"We hope that the court will make a different decision, the right decision is to release Evgenia Alexandrovna Hutsul, as she is not guilty of anything," Uzun said.
Hutsul, who is under arrest, published an appeal to citizens on March 29. According to her, the arrest is a blow to the whole of Gagauzia. Hutsul called on her supporters to "not give in to fear," and also not to give up.
On the same day, the Pobeda political bloc announced that the decision to extend Hutsul's arrest for 20 days would be protested by the defense in the Chisinau Appeals Chamber. Ilan Shor, the leader of the opposition bloc, noted that the arrest of the head of Gagauzia would be a "nail in the coffin" of the Moldovan authorities.
Hutsul was detained at the Chisinau airport on March 25. According to the Moldovan Prosecutor General's Office, this happened after her name was found on the list of persons who are prohibited from leaving the country.
