The auto expert named the main mistakes when replacing tires with summer ones

Replacing summer tires too early, self—"overshooting" and installing worn tires are the most common mistakes when replacing winter tires with summer tires. This was stated by Alexey Abrameytsev, Head of the Technical Customer Support Department at JSC Cordiant, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on March 31.
Thus, due to an early tire change, a motorist runs the risk of being on the road with insufficient traction, since in the evenings and especially at night the temperature often drops significantly to near-zero values. Also, reagents remain on the asphalt surface, on which a car with summer tires can "slip," he pointed out.
According to the expert, it is undesirable to install summer tires yourself, even if they are stored in an assembly with disks. Only in the specialized workshop, specialists will be able to inspect the tires for damage, perform balancing, and, if necessary, clean the wheel hubs from accumulated rust during the winter period.
Finally, when riding on worn tires, the risk of aquaplaning increases. In heavy rain, already at 80 km/h, the tire tread with average wear resists aquaplaning twice as well as new ones, which significantly increases the risk of an accident, the specialist emphasized. He recommended installing new summer tires to replace those whose tread is worn down to 3 mm.
The day before, auto expert Vadim Strelbitsky said that with the arrival of spring, many car owners encounter unexpected breakdowns that went unnoticed in winter. The expert named the effects of corrosion as one of the main problems.
On March 24, expert Alexander Smith called the protection of the car body a mandatory procedure with the onset of spring. He explained that after winter, traces of reagents and salt, which are sprinkled on the roads, remain on the surface of the car. You should also inspect the body for chips or scratches and fix them in a timely manner.
