Russians named the necessary amount of financial cushion for the first year of a child's life

The majority of Russians surveyed (83%) expressed the opinion that it is necessary to prepare financially for the arrival of a new family member. One in ten believes that a financial cushion of up to 300 thousand rubles is needed for the first year of a child's life. 17% would save from 300 thousand rubles to 500 thousand rubles for this period, according to the results of a study by the financial marketplace <url>, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 31.

One fifth of the respondents (21%) indicated 500,000 — 1 million rubles as the optimal financial cushion for the first year of life. More than 1 million rubles are needed by 15% of Russians, and 20% of compatriots are convinced that, ideally, a stable passive income should be provided for the birth of a child.

Experts also found that one in ten survey participants considers the availability of savings for the first year of a child's life to be an unprincipled issue if they can rely on a partner for the financial support of the family. About 7% of respondents indicated that family benefits, state support and an additional financial cushion are not necessary for the period of maternity leave.

"The formation of savings for the period of birth and the first year of a child's life indicates the predominance of the savings model among Russians and generally demonstrates a high level of financial maturity of compatriots," said the executive director of the financial marketplace "Choose.<url>" Yaroslav Badzhurak.

Earlier, on February 19, it was reported that among the Russians surveyed, 53% of respondents want to learn how to manage finances competently, save money or invest. At the same time, a third of the respondents (29%) chose a gradual approach to the introduction of habits: they do not promise themselves to completely change their lives, but move forward in small steps.
