In Russia, the number of cars under 20 years old has been calculated

In total, there were 47.5 million passenger cars in Russia as of the beginning of this year. Three quarters of them, 35.5 million, are under the age of 20. Sergey Tselikov, CEO of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on March 31.
Cars under the age of 20 are most interesting for dealers and independent service stations, since they can be considered an "actively operated fleet," the specialist explained.
The structure of the "most vibrant" part of the fleet includes approximately 200 brands and more than 3 thousand models. Lada is the leader in terms of vehicle volume with 8 million vehicles. This is followed by Toyota, Kia and Hyundai, each of these brands is represented by more than 2.5 million passenger cars in the country.
Renault (2.15 million units), Nissan (1.72 million units), Chevrolet and Volkswagen (more than 1.5 million units) are next. each), Ford and Skoda (more than 1 million units each) and Mitsubishi (almost 1 million units). Mazda, BMW, Opel, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Daewoo and Chery have a fleet exceeding 500 thousand units. Geely and Haval are approaching this number. The top 20 brands account for 86.4% of the 2005-2024 fleet.
The share of electric cars and plug-in hybrids is only 0.3%. At the same time, 6.5% of cars have diesel engines at once. And every 30th has a right-hand drive (3.7%), there are many such cars in the Far East.
"Despite the active Chinese expansion of the last three years, only one in 15 Russians (6.6% of the actively operated fleet) actually drives cars from China," Tselikov noted.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the average cost of used crossovers in the Russian secondary market remained almost unchanged over the year. At the same time, while dealers have seen a decrease in the average age and mileage of cars in all price categories, private sellers, on the contrary, have become higher.
