A criminal case was opened against a resident of the village of Alyabyevsky in the Sovetsky district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug due to illegal hunting of wild moose. The poacher was detained in the courtyard of the house while butchering the head of a dead animal.

IA " <url>", referring to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, writes that traces of blood led police officers to the detainee's house. During the inspection of the territory of the house, they found meat, skins and the heads of two males. The suspect confessed to the crime.

According to him, he has been hunting moose since December 2024. To do this, he used loops of metal cable. He butchered the captured animals in the forest, and then took them home in parts. At the same time, he did not have a hunting permit.

The damage caused to the state was estimated at 480 thousand rubles. A criminal case has been opened under the article "Illegal hunting that caused particularly serious damage." The accused faces up to 5 years in prison.

The animal was shot on the territory of the hunting grounds of the Alchan Society of Hunters and Fishermen. According to the investigation, the accused discovered a male tiger and shot him twice with a Tiger rifled carbine. The hunter butchered the slain animal, took it outside the hunting grounds and hid the animal parts in the forest along the road.
