Calculations of 152-millimeter Hyacinth-S self-propelled artillery units of the 25th Combined Arms army of the Zapad group of forces destroyed a camouflaged American-made M777 howitzer, a radar station, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control center and manpower of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of a special operation. military operation (SVO). This was announced on March 31 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that the gunners conduct continuous combat work in day and night conditions on targets being exposed, delivering precise strikes on military installations, positions, fortifications, military equipment, column movement and enemy manpower.

So, using drones in the forest belt, the scouts uncovered new targets and transmitted the exact coordinates to the control center. After that, the artillery crews struck at the received coordinates. At the same time, fire adjustments were performed in real time, which made it possible to hit targets with a minimum amount of ammunition. After completing the combat mission, the soldiers disguised the gun and promptly retreated to an underground shelter.

"The work varies from time to time, it all depends on the weather conditions and the nature of the goal. It happens that we work every day, we work out up to 10 goals, sometimes even less. We also carry out proofreading in parallel. But mostly we work on duty targets, either the enemy's mark is coming from us, from where they are practicing, or we are helping the infantry, or the order of the higher command," said the battery commander.

It is specified that 152-millimeter self-propelled guns are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 30 km. Hyacinth-S also has armor protection on a tracked chassis. The gun has high maneuverability and can fire direct fire or from closed positions, the ministry said.
