Sappers conducted mine clearance of the territories of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region

Military engineers of the 92nd sapper regiment of the North group of forces carried out continuous mine clearance of the territories of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region liberated from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on March 31.

In order to restore socially significant facilities and infrastructure, specialists carry out tasks of mine clearance in the border areas of the Kursk region. According to the agency, the Ukrainian militants left behind mines, tripwires and other hidden traps during their retreat. At the same time, the enemy used various types of ammunition, including those produced by NATO countries.

"Their tactics were different here, they left "surprises", mined in the open, there was everything and a lot. Starting with foreign mines: England, America. They also have shells, both American and German. They have all the NATO stuff," said the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Potap.

At the same time, sappers use modern engineering intelligence methods to perform their tasks, including the use of the Uran-6 robotic complex. This high-tech machine makes it possible to effectively detect and destroy explosive devices remotely, minimizing risks to personnel.

It is noted that the work of military engineers is key to restoring normal life in the border areas so that local residents can return to their homes.

"We are working with the group, clearing road sections and villages in the Kursk region. Now they were cleaning the road, the roadside, and they found a "gift" left behind. My subordinates are also protecting villages, houses, in general, all areas so that civilians can enter and return home," the soldier added.

On March 30, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that an army aviation crew on a Mi-28NM helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group launched an air missile attack on personnel and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the border area of the Kursk region. The aircraft gunner confirmed the destruction of all targets.
