FC Zenit defeated Rubin and rose to second place in the RPL

The football players of the Zenit St. Petersburg club beat Rubin Kazan on their home field in the match of the 22nd round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). The match took place on March 30 at the Gazprom Arena stadium (St. Petersburg) and ended with a score of 4:0 and came in second place.

Zenit scored all four goals in the second half. The winners included striker Luciano Gondu (in the 51st minute), midfielder Gustavo Mantuan (59th), striker Mateo Casserra (73rd) and midfielder Andrei Mostovoy (74th). From the 55th minute, Rubin played in the minority due to the removal of central defender Alexei Gritsaenko.

Zenit moved up to second place in the standings with 46 points, overtaking Spartak Moscow (with 44 points), which had previously drawn with Akhmat. Rubin remained in seventh place with 32 points.
