Capybaras in the Moscow Zoo went to the outdoor enclosure

In the Moscow Zoo, capybaras have entered an outdoor enclosure. This was announced on Sunday, March 30, by the press service of the Moscow zoo.

Kuzma, Malaya and their children began to walk a little in the outdoor aviary with the onset of spring. They explore the territory, actively communicate with their neighbors — Vicuna, llama and guanaco. A moat has been prepared for the animals, where capybaras like to swim, especially in the summer heat. The water will flow there when it warms up even more, according to the Moscow City News agency.

Zoologists regularly work with the capybara family, and sometimes visitors can watch these trainings when the capybaras go outside. They are delicately trained to weigh themselves, participate in veterinary examinations, and follow the staff, writes 360.ru . They receive corn as a reward, however, in small quantities. The main part of the capybara's diet includes four types of salads, apples, kiwis, pears, bananas, carrots, beets, pumpkins and more, according to Moscow 24.

Capybaras like to walk at temperatures not lower than +10 degrees, the website clarifies. kp.ru . They often spend time in a small garden on the left side of the enclosure, near their winter house.
