Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on March 30 that he was concerned about the behavior of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. During his speech at the ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, he did not mention the exploits of the Red Army.

According to Lavrov, his concern is not related to Guterres' personal qualities, but is due to the status of the UN Secretary General.

"Whoever he is, and he is a Portuguese citizen, he has worked in international organizations for half his life and should understand what the UN Secretary-General is in accordance with Article 100 of the Charter," he said in an interview for the No Statute of Limitations project. A front without a front line", which is published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to Lavrov, this is a sad trend and underlines the need to respect neutrality and historical justice in the activities of the UN Secretary General.

On the same day, Lavrov called for combating the rewriting of history by the Baltic States, Poland and a number of other EU countries. According to him, there is an attempt in these countries to equalize the criminals convicted by the Nuremberg Tribunal with those who liberated Europe from fascism.
