A man accused of raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl near Tver has been arrested.

In the Tver region, a court has chosen a measure of restraint for a man who is accused of murdering and raping a 13-year-old girl. This was reported on March 30 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"The court granted the request of the investigation and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the accused," the department's Telegram channel says.

The court charged the man with crimes under Part b of Part 4 of Article 131, paragraph b of Part 4 of Article 132, paragraph c of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").

He was detained until May 22 inclusive.

The suspect in the case is the babies' father.

Earlier, on March 29, the Investigative Committee reported that the body of a 13-year-old girl who disappeared on March 21 near the village of Ryazanovo was found in a wooded area near the Rucheek farm in the Kalininsky Municipal District with signs of violent death. The suspect in the commission of the crime was detained. He turned out to be a 34-year-old resident of the Kalininsky municipal district.

Magomed Zakriev, an employee of the sawmill, where the detainee previously worked, said that the man suspected of murdering the girl in the Tver region seemed to be a calm person.
