A rally in support of the head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, is taking place at the Moldovan Embassy in Moscow. This was reported on March 30 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the scene.

"Our struggle is just beginning, let's protect Yevgenia Hutsul," the protesters chant.

The people who came hold banners in support of the head of Gagauzia and flags of the autonomy.

The previous rally in support of the Hutsuls at the Moldovan Embassy was held in Moscow on March 27. The participants that day came with posters with photos of the politician.

Hutsul, who is under arrest, published an appeal to citizens on March 29. She said that her detention was a blow to the whole of Gagauzia and urged her supporters to "not give in to fear" and not give up.

On that day, the Pobeda political bloc announced that the decision to extend Hutsul's arrest for 20 days would be protested by the defense in the Chisinau Appeals Chamber. Ilan Shor, the leader of the opposition bloc, noted that the arrest of the head of Gagauzia would be a "nail in the coffin" of the Moldovan authorities.

Hutsul was detained at the Chisinau airport on March 25. According to the Moldovan Prosecutor General's Office, this happened after her name was found on the list of persons who are prohibited from leaving the country.
