A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Ministry of Defense reported that the units of the Center group of forces, as a result of successful offensive operations, completed the liberation of the village of Zaporizhia in the DPR.

In the area of operation of this group, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 510 soldiers, seven vehicles and four field artillery guns.

The units of the Southern Group of Forces improved their tactical situation, and in the course of their combat work, the enemy lost up to 300 soldiers, three US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, two tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, eight pickup trucks, four armored fighting vehicles and an ammunition depot.

In addition, the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on a temporary deployment point of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and special operations forces of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the country, as a result of which up to 170 militants and foreign mercenaries were eliminated.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 660 aircraft, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23109 field artillery and mortar guns, 283 helicopters, 49030 unmanned aerial vehicles, 22596 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 33530 units of special military vehicles and 1533 combat vehicles of multiple rocket launchers have been destroyed.
