- The festival "Look into the bright world of cinema from the inside out" was held in Moscow

The problem of staff shortages in the film industry is now being addressed across the country. Educational film festivals for young people will be held regularly in major cities. The masters of cinema and theater will share the secrets of the industry with students and schoolchildren. In Moscow, such a festival gathered hundreds of participants the day before. A correspondent of Izvestia told us what master classes they had prepared on March 30.
How to write a script, edit a genre film without having a budget, and find your acting charisma. All master classes in one day. By its very name, the youth festival calls for "looking into the vibrant world of cinema from the inside out," which means meeting those who are making movies now and understanding what they themselves can give to this industry.
"This is the case when studying and education create a festive mood. Meetings with directors, screenwriters, and producers turn into confidential conversations, from which you can learn not even a lesson — it sounds like you need to do your homework — but friendly advice," said Nikolai Nikulin, a correspondent for Izvestia.
At the festival, director Said Dashuk-Nigmatulin gave a lecture on how artificial intelligence affects filmmaking: it became easier to calculate budgets, create presentations, and evaluate a script for a potential audience. Actor Alexey Zuev also spoke about the dangers on the set and how important it is for an actor to be diverse and at the same time remain himself.
"The shortage of screenwriting in the entire industry is very acute, so let's hope that all the schools that have launched their programs will soon provide us with excellent new screenwriters, specialists and directors," explained producer Anna Shalashina.
Perhaps one of these guys is a future Oscar-winning director or screenwriter. Moreover, the masters of the industry are looking not only at students, but also at very young talents. Master classes were also held for the youngest viewers.
"We work according to the Stanislavsky and Chekhov system. The first year at the theater university is devoted to observing animals and people. And so we work with children very often, we show animals in the exercise. How can you show an emotion, for example, a cat, that's how a joyful cat can be," said actress Ekaterina Kosareva.
Such film festivals are very important and, of course, masters of theater and cinema should regularly share their experiences with students.
"It's good when there are such events that allow you to make the right choice. To come and understand that there is a cool world that is also accessible," concluded actor Timofey Zaitsev.
On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the pace that Russia has gained in the development of Russian cinema is good. According to the head of state, 298 films were completed in 2024. 214 Russian works were released, 54 of them with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The box office totaled 36 billion rubles.
