While it is not necessary to escalate the situation with the alleged appearance of a new virus in Russia, you must first wait for the results of at least one study. This was announced on March 30 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.

"In St. Petersburg, we have the Pasteur Institute, which deals only with influenza, and there is no information about any new virus in its official report. Therefore, let's not dismiss this information, we will carefully decipher it," Onishchenko told TASS.

He noted that it is necessary to study at least one study on this topic when it appears, and, in particular, to find out where cases of the disease have been reported.

The epidemiologist drew attention to the fact that the manifestations of a possible new virus, for example, high fever, may be symptoms of a severe course of some other disease. Blood when coughing, in turn, may turn out to be an individual feature of the body of individuals.

Onishchenko noted that this case serves as a reminder that you need to be attentive to yourself and others, especially children and elderly relatives — you need to respond to illnesses in time and start treatment by contacting doctors.

On March 29, information appeared on Telegram channels about the alleged appearance of a new virus - patients face high fever and blood when expectorating. Rospotrebnadzor has brought this situation under control.
