France called unacceptable the US interference in the policy of inclusivity

The French Ministry of Foreign Trade has condemned a letter from the US Embassy in Paris to French companies demanding that they abandon inclusivity programs under threat of unjustified tariffs and called it unacceptable interference. This was reported by the newspaper Le Figaro on March 29.
"U.S. interference in the inclusion policy of French companies, such as threats of unreasonable tariffs, is unacceptable," the agency said in a statement.
The newspaper Le Figaro reported on March 28 that the US government had sent a letter to several French firms demanding that they abandon diversity programs as soon as possible if they wanted to continue working with Washington.
At the end of January, US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the closure of all diversity and inclusivity programs. In February, the American film company Paramount began reviewing its approach to diversity, equality and inclusivity among its employees amid statements by the American leader. The film company will also stop collecting gender and diversity data for many job applicants in the United States.
