Snipers of the 44th army corps of the North group of forces disrupted the rotation of a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kharkiv direction. This was announced on March 30 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the agency, Russian snipers of the North group of forces in the "free hunting" mode covertly destroy particularly important targets, enemy manpower, and support the combat work of Russian assault, motorized rifle and tank units in the area of a special military operation (SVO). After receiving the tasks, the sniper pairs move to the area of the task. Their targets are manpower, vehicles, and light armored vehicles.
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation discovered the enemy's rotation route and the supply of ammunition to enemy positions in the Kharkov direction, uncovered the enemy's route, observing the movement of Ukrainian militants in order to calculate the interval at which the passage along the trail and the supply of ammunition to the positions are carried out. After calculating the parameters for an accurate shot, the soldiers destroyed the enemy group.
"We conduct reconnaissance by observation, adjust artillery fire on identified targets, and destroy the most important enemy targets. These are officers, we hit firing points, mortar crews, machine—gun emplacements, and we are always ready to hit an unmanned aerial vehicle," said the deputy commander of a sniper rifle company with the call sign Amber.
In addition, military personnel of sniper units work to cover assault units, monitor the movement of militants, conduct reconnaissance, calculate enemy firing positions and participate in anti-sniper and anti-sabotage measures, cover the calculations of AGS machine-gun grenade launchers, conducting rapid fire on enemy positions, corrected and guided by a sniper observer. They can work as free hunters, scouts and spotters, as well as stop the advance of enemy armored vehicles and manpower.
At the same time, military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces use various sniper rifles in combat work, hitting targets located even outside the walls of buildings. Military personnel use thermal imaging capes and muzzle compensator brakes of a closed type, which disperse the sound of a shot and extinguish the flash. Modern sights also help snipers, which can increase the effectiveness of shooting several times by increasing magnification, measuring the range to the target and an accurate rangefinder, the department said.
On March 28, military personnel of the UAV crew of the 1st Slavic Brigade of the Center group of forces told Izvestia about the use of the Supercam S350 drone for aerial photography and video monitoring of targets of Ukrainian militants in the area of a special military operation (SVO). Thanks to the reconnaissance drone, Russian fighters quickly identify the AFU equipment.
