In Hanover, Germany, 25 people were injured in a fire at a nursing home. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on March 29, citing a police representative.

"25 people were injured in a fire at a nursing home in the northern city center of Hanover. <...> Initially, more than 50 victims were reported," the newspaper said.

According to the newspaper, one of the victims is in critical condition, the other two were seriously injured due to smoke. Medical staff noticed a fire in one of the rooms of the nursing home in the afternoon and reported it to the fire department, a police spokesman said.

According to law enforcement officials, the upper floor of the building is no longer habitable, which is why the staff had to relocate 16 residents affected by the fire to other rooms. According to the fire department, almost 100 people live in the nursing home.

"The police have launched an investigation on the spot to determine the causes of the fire. There is no information on the extent of the damage yet," the newspaper quoted a representative of the fire service as saying.

TRT Haber TV channel reported on March 27 that two employees became victims of a fire at the Kervansaray Hotel in the Uludag ski resort in Turkey. It was noted that the fire started at night for an unknown reason. At the same time, the hotel was closed to guests, as back in January, the authorities found a number of violations in it and refused to issue a new license. There were 12 people in the building at the time of the fire.
