Austrian Chancellor Stoecker confirmed as head of the Austrian People's Party

According to the results of the voting, Stocker secured the support of 98.42% of the delegates. Sophie Kircher, a member of the European Parliament and a representative of the party's branch in Tyrol in western Austria, was elected as his deputy.
"I promise that I will contribute not only as federal chancellor, but also as party chairman to steer Austria towards a brighter future and do everything necessary for the country," Stoecker wrote on his Twitter account.
Karl Nehammer announced on January 4 that he would leave the posts of Chancellor of Austria and head of the ANP after the failure of negotiations on the creation of a ruling coalition following the parliamentary elections in September.
