Austrian Chancellor Stoecker confirmed as head of the Austrian People's Party

Following the results of its congress, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stoecker was confirmed as the new head of the Austrian People's Party (ANP). This was announced on Saturday, March 29, by the press service of the ANP on the social network X (former. Twitter).

According to the results of the voting, Stocker secured the support of 98.42% of the delegates. Sophie Kircher, a member of the European Parliament and a representative of the party's branch in Tyrol in western Austria, was elected as his deputy.

"I promise that I will contribute not only as federal chancellor, but also as party chairman to steer Austria towards a brighter future and do everything necessary for the country," Stoecker wrote on his Twitter account.

Karl Nehammer announced on January 4 that he would leave the posts of Chancellor of Austria and head of the ANP after the failure of negotiations on the creation of a ruling coalition following the parliamentary elections in September. The newspaper Die Presse reported on March 3 that Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen had sworn in ANP leader Christian Stoker as chancellor.
