Actor Denis Arndt, who starred in Basic Instinct, has died at the age of 86.

American actor Denis Arndt, known for his role as Lieutenant Philip Walker in the film Basic Instinct, has died at the age of 86. This was reported on March 29 by The Mirror.

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our father, Denis Leroy Arndt. He died peacefully in his bed at his beloved cabin home in Ashland, Oregon, where he had lived for almost 50 years," the newspaper quoted his family as saying.

Denis Arndt was born on February 23, 1939. Before starting his acting career, he participated in the Vietnam War, was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Medal of Merit as a US Army helicopter pilot. After the war, he graduated from the University of Washington and made his theater debut.

Arndt also starred in a number of other films and TV series, in particular, "S.W.A.T.: Special Forces of the City of Angels", "Sniper 3", "Columbo" and "Supernatural". His last works in cinema were roles in the TV series "How to Get away with Murder" (2018) and the 2023 short film "Remake".
