The IMF predicted a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict by the end of 2025


The conflict in Ukraine will "subside" by the end of 2025. This is stated in the forecast of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) published on March 28.
"Although the risks remain exceptionally high, the baseline scenario still assumes that [the conflict] will subside in the last months of this year," the document says.
At the same time, the IMF predicted a decrease in the growth of the Ukrainian economy by 0.5% in 2025.
In addition, another scenario of the organization provides that the Ukrainian conflict will subside in the second quarter of 2026.
US President Donald Trump said at the White House on March 28 that progress was being made in negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. On March 26, Trump announced great success in negotiations with Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, he did not disclose any other details related to the topic of negotiations.
Negotiations between the Russian and American expert groups in Riyadh took place on March 24. They lasted 12 hours. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, noted that Russia and the United States would continue contacts after the talks in Riyadh.
